The Girolomoni Cultural Foundation which is today named after its founder, Gino Girolomoni, was founded in 1996 as the Fondazione Alce Nero. Its main objective is to conserve and keep on file the written documents and papers and to protect the literary heritage left by Gino Girolomoni, as well as to disseminate his thought, continue the cultural events he had launched and promote the places in which agricultural life and the agrarian landscape found meaning and economic potential, thanks to Gino and his wife Tullia Romani.

One of its main commitments is the publication of the magazine Mediterraneo Dossier, which collects and disseminates the thought regarding the initiatives launched by Girolomoni, touching on themes such as spirituality, organics, current affairs and much more. The Foundation is located in the Monastery of Montebello, between Urbino and Isola del Piano, in the province of Pesaro-Urbino.
